Bugs, sex, and Isabella Rossellini. That’s ‘Green Porno‘, a series of enthralling 1’ videos meant for mobile use, acted and directed by Isabella. The P word did get my attention and guaranteed the magical one click. Once in, Isabella’s voice, humor, and clever acting kept me there. One minute is the perfect length, enough time to tell a story, but not too long to lose me. The story itself is very simple, and makes me curious enough – how do they do it? -, that I want to hear the end. Perfect for these moments stuck on the train, when I am looking for easy entertainment.

This is what we should be thinking about, when developing a climate fight campaign.

The Americans have the ecosexuals. Now, the French have the Velibataires. My friend Christine, just back from Paris, told me about a new breed of French males. The Velibataires is a clever play on words between Velib’, the Paris bikes initiative, and celibataire, the French word for ‘single’ male. Parisian men are notoriously aggressive when it comes to flirting. Now they have another weapon, the velo! Anything to sell green, is good on my book. Still, how come is it, that males, on both sides of the Atlantic, are getting all the credit for green sexiness?

No Impact Man and I must be on the same wavelength. Just as I was feeling dragged down by the enormity of the work to be done, I read his post today about the importance of fun. Humans respond to humor, especially in times of crisis. Look at YouTube. The most popular videos are usually the silliest, goofiest ones. People can’t seem to get enough of the stuff. What’s missing from most of the environmentalist voices out there, is a bit of lightness, and also kindness for their audience. When I wrote about ‘Forget Lecturing’ yesterday, I forgot to add one important piece. Yes, do not lecture me. Yes, do not make me feel bad for what I am not, should be doing. Yes, show me through your example, not harsh words. Yes to all three, and also please, don’t take yourself so seriously. Make me laugh!
