Thanks to Mary Hunt for pointing me to ‘The Story of Stuff‘. This 20′ fast-paced educational video did more to educate me on my role as a consumer than all I have heard or read so far. Here, to tease you, are four quick excerpts:
I swear, after you watch the Story of Stuff video, you will never be the same consumer again. You will have become a conscious consumer. And that makes all the difference.
WARNING: Story of Stuff can spread very quickly . . . 🙂
smart clips, all explained in uncluttered manner.
should be standard high-school fare.
i will send this article to several schools.
a fine reminder of the old path and where it has led us.
Thanks, Nadine.
I agree with you that it should be mandatory material in schools.
Welcome to my world! I saw this shortly after it came out in early December and was wow’d. I’ve actually referenced it many times during the recent holiday season. I don’t know how anyone can watch that video and not start thinking and want to make changes. How can you watch that and just blow it off? I’ve been trying to get as many people as possible to check it out. Maybe it will wake them up without me preaching to them 🙂
I hope you survived your holidays after the struggles we discussed previously with buying things. StoryofStuff should fit right in with that.
Be well!
